Want a more convenient way to get your Blue Slip?
Blue slip
A safety inspection report for unregistered vehicles. A Blue slip is required to register a vehicle in NSW that is unregistered, has come from interstate or has been imported.
You may also require a Blue slip to adjust records or clear a defect.
Galston Service Centre are an Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Station (AUVIS) where you can get a blue slip inspection for Cars, Light Trucks (up to 4500kg GVM), Motorcycles, LPG and Light Trailers. We service surrounding areas of Castle Hill, Glenhaven, Cherrybrook, Kenthurst, Galston and Dural.
We have simplified the whole process of registering your vehicle. Once you obtain the Blue Slip from us, it will also come with the required forms to complete the registration. You will then be able to obtain and pay for your green slip, and visit your nearest RMS to get your vehicle registered and back on the road.

The features of a "Blue Slip" inspection that differ from a "Pink Slip" include:
· An enhanced vehicle identity check which is intended to accurately identify the vehicle
· The inclusion of a design check to ensure that a vehicle meets vehicle design and
construction standards
Driving an unregistered vehicle attracts on-the-spot fines ($1007 for driving uninsured and unregistered) and four demerit points. If the matter goes to court, the court can impose fines of up to $2200 for driving unregistered and $5500 for driving uninsured.
RMS advice is that the only time you can legally drive an unregistered car is to get the car registered – such as driving directly to your inspection station or to a motor registry. And you must use the most direct or convenient route.
